Discretionary Bursary Fund (DBF)

DISCRETIONARY BURSARY FUND (DBF)

The Discretionary Bursary Fund (DBF) is money that has been given directly to Thomas Alleyne’s High School by the Government to assist 16-19-year-old students who face financial barriers in continuing in full time education. Students are able bid into throughout the academic year providing they meet the financial criteria set by the school.  For the academic year 2023-2024 students are eligible for funding of up to £400 if their parental income is below £27,000 (proof required).

Up to £75 will be allocated to each subject a student studies for the department to decide what resources will aid the students learning. If a student is studying a BTEC course £75 will be awarded for each A-level equivalence. Students can use the remaining funding towards transport costs, purchasing additional course texts, software, revision guides etc. or towards course supporting trips or uniform.

Application forms can be obtained from the Sixth Form office
