Teacher of Physics (0.4 to full time and permanent)

TMS with the possibility of a TLR 3

Required from September 2018

Do you have the potential to inspire, engage, motivate and support students to raise attainment?

The Trustees are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Physics with a clear vision and passion for learning who can make a major contribution to the continued development of our School and the work of our Multi-Academy Trust. We are an ambitious and forward thinking school. For example we have recently submitted a bid to become a Teaching School and are leading the MAT and other partner schools to prepare a SSIF bid. Applications from NQTs, recently qualified teachers and experienced teachers are welcomed. A teaching and learning responsibility may be available to teachers able to offer STEM outreach work.  This would include working within school and also with the Uttoxeter Pyramid of schools to raise awareness of STEM possibly via working with STEM ambassadors and carrying out project work with groups of students potentially leading to CREST awards.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational teacher of physics. The successful candidate will teach all science subjects to GCSE and physics to A level.  As a result of flexibility within our timetable we can offer the successful candidate up to a full-time post but we require a minimum contract of 0.4 FTE.

The science department offers GCSE courses in combined science, triple science and a BTEC in animal care.  At Post 16 A level numbers are high and we offer courses in physics, biology and chemistry and in BTEC Applied Science.

Thomas Alleyne’s High School is a 13 – 18 school at the heart of its community which provides a broad and balanced curriculum for students. The school is passionate in providing effective professional development of our staff.  The school is set in a rural location but is within easy reach of Burton, Derby, Lichfield, Stafford and Stoke.

We implement child protection procedures and enhanced disclosure checks.
