House

Care, Support and Guidance at Thomas Alleyne’s High School.

Thomas Alleyne’s High School has a strong, established pastoral system. This is led by Mrs Claire Catterall, Assistant Headteacher, with responsibility for Student Wellbeing.

Students are welcomed into Year 9 with a Form Tutor who spends the first part of every day with them. This supports and helps them to prepare for the day ahead. In turn all tutor groups are then organised into the four Houses, Elkes, Orme, Torrance and Whitmore.

Each House is led by a member of our teaching staff and supported by a non-teaching, full time Student Support Assistant.

  • Elkes House – Ms Brooks and Ms Attwood
  • Orme House – Mr Brassington and Mrs Moore
  • Torrance House –  Mrs Lambert and Ms Matthews
  • Whitmore House – Ms Jones and Mr Forsyth

Our unique House system enables students to immediately feel part of our school community. The Heads of House, Student Support Assistants and Form Tutors have the opportunity to get to know and support their students really well.

Students have the opportunity to represent their House and contribute towards its success in a rich variety of on-going House competitions. Students are also actively encouraged to take advantage of the wide ranging extra-curricular opportunities that the school offers.

Thomas Alleyne’s puts a high value on good discipline that enables all students to achieve their best. We celebrate this success throughout the school year in our House assemblies and endeavour to prepare our students for the next steps in their educational journey.

We are committed to our school vision:
